Affordable Care Act (ACA)

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or Obamacare, is a comprehensive healthcare reform law established in March 2010 with three primary goals:

  • Make affordable health insurance available to more people
  • Expand Medicaid programs
  • Support innovative medical care delivery methods designed to lower the costs of healthcare

To achieve these goals, the ACA expanded preventive care requirements, increased dependent coverage to age 26, removed lifetime maximums, and more.

Sana actively monitors ACA compliance requirements for your company's group health coverage. This includes annual IRS reporting requirements through Form 1094 and Form 1095.
