Emergency Room Care

We all know that emergencies happen, and you can’t always plan ahead. If you need to visit an ER, Sana has you covered.

Under federal law, emergency rooms cannot turn away patients in need of emergency medical services, regardless of their insurance provider, ability to pay, etc. Because of this we generally see that emergency rooms are eager to recoup as much as possible and agree to send the claim for emergency room visits to a non-contracted insurance provider.

Since Sana will accept and pay claims from all providers, there's no chance of us denying the claim or reducing benefits due to the facility being "out-of-network."

When you go to the ER, make sure to give them your Sana Member ID card and ask them to update your insurance information. If they have any questions about benefits or eligibility, the number for the ER to call is on your ID card.
